IN A I L R ENERGY I LIFE <br />CUT OF <br />RIVERSIDE <br />PUBLIClad <br />UTILITIES <br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Board Memorandum <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />DATE: DECEMBER 11, 2023 <br />SUBJECT: BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES' ANNUAL WORK PLAN <br />ISSUE: <br />Consider the 2024 Board of Public Utilities' Annual Work Plan for recommendation to City Council. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities recommend to the City Council the adoption of the 2024 Board <br />of Public Utilities' Annual Work Plan. <br />LEGISTLATIVE HISTORY: <br />CITY OF RIVERSIDE CHARTER <br />ARTICLE VIII. - APPOINTIVE BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Sec. 800. - In general. <br />There shall be the following enumerated boards and commissions which shall have the <br />powers and duties herein stated, and such additional powers and duties, consistent with <br />the provisions of this Charter, as may be granted to them by ordinance of the City Council. <br />In addition, the City Council may create by ordinance such additional advisory boards or <br />commissions as in its judgment are required, and may grant to them such powers and <br />duties as are consistent with the provisions of this Charter. <br />The City Council shall establish by ordinance, the number of members, not less than <br />seven, for each board or commission. <br />ARTICLE XII. - DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Sec. 1200. - Created; management and control. <br />There shall be a Department of Public Utilities, which shall be under the management and <br />control of the City Manager subject, however, to the powers and duties of the Board of <br />Public Utilities as hereafter set forth in this Article. Said department shall be responsible <br />for electric and water supplies, services and conservation and any other utility as <br />determined by ordinance of the City Council, and shall include all works owned, controlled, <br />
