CITY COUNCIL <br />SUCCESSOR AGENCY <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2023, 1 P.M. <br />City ffArts &Innovation PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson and Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Perry, <br />and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Conder <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />Father Thomas, Associate Pastor at Queen of Angels Parish, gave the Invocation. <br />Councilmember Hemenway led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Patrick Maloney spoke regarding Halloween in the Wood Streets, First Congregational <br />Church new Pastor Kristen Nelson, Open Mic Night at Back to Grind and Euryale Brewing, <br />Neighbors of the Wood Streets meeting, Festival of Lights, and After Dark Arts at the Culver <br />Center and thanked the City Council for their hard work and dedication. James Arma <br />spoke regarding therapist at Renewing Hope Strategies, community needs assessment <br />event which includes medicine management, and case management for the unhoused. <br />ePlanet Thunderstriker spoke regarding ambulance services, crime rates, and monarchy. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on tour of Mulberry Village, Lift to Rise housing <br />collaborative event, Halloween in the Wood Streets, Veterans Court graduation, Ulises <br />Cabrera of Moreno Valley tour of the Hulen Center and addressing Riverside <br />homelessness, Veterans Day Parade, Neighbors of Wood Streets community meeting, <br />world peace, and Northside Improvement Association meeting. Councilmember <br />Cervantes reported on Greater Chamber of Riverside speaker at Hunter Park, 20th <br />anniversary of Dia De Los Muertos Day of the Dead, Financial Performance and Budget <br />Committee meeting, Residents of Eastside Leadership meeting, University Neighborhood <br />Association meeting, annual Salute to Veterans Parade, Zacatecas Mexican Cafe 60th <br />anniversary event, and prayers for those that are impacted by events taking place in <br />Palestine. Councilwoman Plascencia reported on Hindu Society of the Inland Empire <br />dance, Coffee with the Councilwoman in the Winifred community, community meeting <br />for the McKenzie residents, Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful cleanup in Casa Blanca, <br />Fall 2023 5K Celebration with the Girls on the Run, 20th Anniversary Day of the Dead, <br />109-113 <br />
