KAISER PERMANENTE® August 23, 2023 Riverside City Hall 3900 Main Street Riverside, CA 92501 Dear Mayor & City Council, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals On behalf of Kaiser Permanente in Riverside County (KPRC), I am writing to express our support for Southern California Edison's (SCE) Riverside Transmission Reliability Project (RTRP). This project has been identified as a critical component in ensuring the City of Riverside has the capacity to meet the growing demand for electrical power. With Riverside County being the fastest growing county in California and the City of Riverside being the largest city in the county, electric reliability is a necessity to ensure a sustainable future for the region. As Riverside County grows, KPRC continues to expand to meet our patient's need with one of our largest efforts taking place at the Riverside Medical Center (RMC). This includes added capacity for patients and a new parking structure that will utilize electrical vehicle charging stations. As a partner SCE and the City of Riverside, and other key stakeholders involved in this endeavor, we encourage all entities involved in the project to work together to create a unified path forward that ensure the city can continue to thrive and be a strong example for others to follow when it comes to creating a sustainable future.
