W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F E <br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Board Memorandum <br />P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: JULY 10, 2023 <br />GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT <br />SUBJECT: MONTHLY WATER REPORT — May 31, 2023 <br />Total water production (potable and non -potable) was 6,866 acre-feet (AF), including 811 AF <br />produced and wheeled to Western Municipal Water District (WMWD) for the month of May. For <br />Fiscal Year 2022-23 to date, total water production and deliveries of 67,484 AF decreased by <br />10,511 AF (13 %) from the same period last fiscal year, as shown in Figure 1. Total production <br />by calendar year is shown in Figure 2. The annual rolling production totals by month are shown <br />in Figure 3. In May, the peak water usage on the potable water distribution system was 67 million <br />gallons per day (MGD) and occurred on May 17, 2023, as shown in Figure 4. <br />May potable water production totaled 5,868 AF, which decreased from last May by 944 AF (14%). <br />Under the Cooperative Surplus Water Sales and Emergency Water Agreements with WMWD and <br />the City of Norco, RPU delivered no water in May. <br />In May, RPU's Gallons Per -Capita per Day (GPCD) was 176, and its Residential Gallons Per - <br />Capita per Day (R-GPCD) was 101. RPU's annual rolling GPCD was 172, which is below the <br />compliance target specified in SB X7-7 (i.e., 20% reduction by 2020) of 213. RPU's annual rolling <br />R-GPCD was 99, as shown in Figure 5. The new performance standards related to water use <br />efficiency are being finalized and are set to be adopted in late 2023. <br />The weather conditions in the City of Riverside showed that May 2023 was cooler by 3.6 degrees <br />compared to May last year and experienced an increase of .3 inches of rainfall compared to May <br />2022 <br />On a regional scale, the link below provides real-time updates on the progression and intensity of <br />the Drought within the State: <br />https://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/CurrentMap/StateDroughtMonitor.aspx?CA <br />The figures below show the drought conditions throughout the State between May 2022 and May <br />2023, and an annual class change map for improvement or degradation in the drought conditions. <br />
