SUB -863 FOR PROCUREMENT OF 15KV METALCLAD <br />SWITCHGEAR TO CROWN TECHNICAL SYSTEMS OF FONTANA, <br />CALIFORNIA IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,509,063.45; AND AWARD BID NO. SUB - <br />862 FOR PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTATION POWER TRANSFORMER TO <br />DELTA STAR INC., OF SAN CARLOS, CALIFORNIA IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$2,155,656.50, FOR THE CASA BLANCA SUBSTATION EXPANSION FOR A <br />TOTAL CAPITAL EXPENDITURE IN THE AMOUNT OF 5,131,190.95 <br />ISSUES: <br />Consider awarding Bid No. Sub -863 for furnishing and delivering a 15KV Metalclad switchgear <br />enclosure to Crown Technical Systems in the amount of $2,509,063.45; and award Bid No. Sub - <br />862 for furnishing and delivering a 69kV power transformer to Delta Star Inc., in the amount of <br />$2,155,656.50 for the Casa Blanca Substation Expansion. Materials purchase is part of the <br />Riverside Transmission Reliability Project Work Order No. 642975. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />1 � ifi�i Ta:T.FTi• [5i 1117IC.1�Iil f[iC� <br />Award Bid No. SUB -863 for the procurement of a 15KV Metalclad Switchgear for the Casa <br />Blanca Substation Expansion to Crown Technical Systems, of Fontana, California, in the <br />amount of $2,509,063.45, plus contingency of 10% in the amount of $250,906; <br />2. Award Bid No. SUB -862 for the procurement of a Power Transformer for Casa Blanca <br />Substation Expansion to Delta Star Inc., of San Carlos, California, in the amount of <br />$2,155,656.50, plus contingency of 10% in the amount of $215,565; and <br />3. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute any documents necessary to <br />effectuate the procurement described herein, as well as the ability to make minor non - <br />substantive changes in alignment with all purchasing policies. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Riverside Transmission Reliability Project (RTRP) is a joint project with Southern California <br />Edison (SCE) and will provide Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) with a critical second connection to <br />the state electric transmission grid by connecting to the existing 230kV SCE Mira Loma - Vista <br />line, to address long-term capacity and reliability needs of the City's electric utility system.
