W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F E RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: JUNE 26, 2023 SUBJECT: COST SHARING AGREEMENT BETWEEN SAN BERNARDINO VALLEY MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AND CITY OF RIVERSIDE FOR THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENGINEERING DESIGN COSTS FOR THE RIVERSIDE HABITAT PARKS AND WATER PROJECT — WEST BRANCH IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $2,261,500 AND APPROVAL OF WORK ORDER NO. 2227156 FOR THE ENGINEERING AND DESIGN WORK FOR THE RIVERSIDE HABITAT PARKS AND WATER PROJECT — WEST BRANCH IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,065,750 ISSUES: Recommend that the City Council approve a Cost Sharing Agreement with San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District (Valley District) in the total amount not to exceed $2,261,500 for the Riverside Habitat Parks and Water Project — West Branch Environmental and Design Costs in which 50 percent is the City of Riverside's share; increase the estimated revenue in the amount of $935,000 for Valley District's share of the engineering design costs; and approve the capital expenditure for Work Order No. 2227156 for the Engineering Design work in the amount of $2,065,750. RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of Public Utilities: 1. Recommend that the City Council approve a Cost Sharing Agreement between San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District (Valley District) and City of Riverside for the Environmental and Engineering Design costs for the Riverside Habitat Parks and Water Project — West Branch, in an amount not to exceed $2,261,500 of which 50 percent is the City of Riverside's share; 2. Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the Cost Sharing Agreement with Valley District including making minor and non -substantive changes; 3. Recommend that the City Council authorize an increase in estimated revenue of $935,000 to reflect the reimbursement to the Water Fund; and 4. Approve the capital expenditure for Work Order No. 2227156 in the amount of $2,065,750 for the Engineering Design work for the Riverside Habitat Parks and Water Project — West Branch.
