Approve a Services Agreement from Request for Proposals 2251 for Booster Station Pump
and Motor Services with General Pump Company, of San Dimas, California, in an amount
not -to -exceed $600,000, for a term through June 30, 2026 with one optional two-year
extension, for a total not -to -exceed amount of $1,000,000;
2. Approve Work Order No. 2319496 in the amount of $600,000.
DISCUSSION:
Among other critical facilities, the Public Utilities Department, Water Division (RPU) owns and
operates approximately 39 booster facilities. These facilities are equipped with pumps and
motors, chemical pumps, valves, tanks, and electrical panel controls. There are 166 pumps and
motors alone to operate the booster stations. Mechanical and electrical equipment runs 24/7 and
constantly needs maintenance, rehabilitation, and repairs. Although all water facilities are critical
to ensuring reliable water service, water booster facilities require additional attention as they
maintain the necessary pressure in the distribution system and convey water throughout the City
to ensure adequate water supply to residents.
