The City Council of the City of Riverside does ordain as follows: Section 1: Section 10.52.260 of the Riverside Municipal Code is hereby added as follows: "Section 10.52.260 Parking of car share vehicles. (A) Definitions: For the purpose of this Section, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings: 1. Car Share Vehicle shall mean a motor vehicle that is owned and operated as part of a regional fleet by a City -Authorized Car Share Operator and available for usage by reservation at unstaffed self-service locations for hourly or daily service. 2. City -Authorized Car Share Operator shall mean a public, private, or non-profit entity authorized by the City to provide Car Share vehicles for use. 3. City's Car Share Program shall mean a program under which the Public Works Director designates on -street parking spaces for the exclusive use of motor vehicles displaying an emblem. The emblem of a City -Authorized Car Share Operator must be prominently displayed on both the driver and passenger side front doors. (B) Designation of Spaces: The Public Works Director is hereby authorized to designate streets or portions of streets and parking lot stalls for the exclusive use of vehicles registered to the City - Authorized Car Share Operator and which display the emblem of a City -Authorized Car Share Operator. No person shall park, when authorized signs are in place giving notice thereof, any vehicle or motor vehicle in a place designated for the exclusive parking of motor vehicles participating in the City's Car Share Program. Only vehicles displaying the emblem of the City - Authorized Car Share Operator are exempt from this restriction. 1
