This plan had been prepared by a Marketing Committee made up of City staff <br />from the City Manager's Office, the RPU and the Economic Development Division as well as <br />private sector representatives with expertise in the marketing arena. At the Council workshop, <br />Council members expressed the desire to have an opportunity for more in-depth input into the <br />development ofthe City's marketing activities. Council subsequently requested that a follow-up <br />workshop be scheduled to discuss general economic development strategies and related marketing <br />efforts. <br /> <br />In response, staff has scheduled a 4-hour workshop to facilitate a review of these items and a <br />discussion regarding future directions. Staff has prepared a PowerPoint presentation providing an <br />overview of existing regional and local En Strategies and Marketing Plans, recent successes, and <br />past and future challenges. The major portion of the workshop will be dedicated to facilitating <br />dialogue regarding the City's future marketing priorities with the goal to obtain feedback from <br />Council members, City staff, and other workshop attendees. Representatives ofthe local business <br />community and various economic develol)ment partners have been invited to join in the discussion. <br /> <br />Attached for Council's information are the following: <br />. 3-Year Economic Development Marketing Plan (2001- 2003) <br />.
