CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MAY 9, 2023, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City ofArts &.Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />Councilmember Hemenway gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />John Fisher spoke regarding City Council elections and elected officials. Maria Carrillo <br />spoke regarding Commemorative Flags. Kimberly spoke regarding Waste Hauling <br />Franchise Bidding process. One caller spoke regarding residential development at <br />Indiana, Van Buren, Lincoln, and Jackson Square. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported that she represented the City as an alternate during <br />the Southern California Association of Government (SCAG) General Assembly <br />Conference in Palm Springs, Historic Wood Streets meeting, Northside Improvement <br />Association Meeting, Neighbors of the Wood Streets meeting; Great American cleanup <br />in the Downtown area, Downtown Area Neighborhood Alliance meeting, Museum Day, <br />and wished all mothers a Happy Mother's Day. Councilmember Cervantes introduced <br />Melanie Bruns the Ward 2 Field Representative and reported on Black Collective <br />Women's Recognition event, and the Juneteenth event on June 17, 2023. <br />Councilmember Conder reported Mission Grove Neighborhood Association meeting and <br />Military Spouse Appreciation Day. Councilwoman Plascencia reported on SCAG General <br />Assembly Conference and office hours. Mayor Lock Dawson reported on Hasco Heating <br />Air-conditioning Service 40th Anniversary and Coffee with the Mayor. <br />ANNOUNCEMENT OF COMMITTEE MEETINGS <br />The City Council Financial Performance and Budget Committee will conduct a meeting <br />on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 3 p.m. in the Art Pick Council Chamber. <br />The City Council Mobility and Infrastructure Committee will conduct a meeting on <br />Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the Art Pick Council Chamber. <br />108-332 <br />
