City ofArts 8Z Innovation <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />MINUTES <br />THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2023, 9:00 A.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />BOARD OF ETHICS WARD 4 <br />The Mayor and City Council interviewed Natalie M. Gomez for the Ward 4 seat on the <br />Board of Ethics for the terms ending March 1, 2027. <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Conder and seconded by <br />Councilmember Fierro to appoint Natalie M. Gomez to the Ward 4 seat on the Board of <br />Ethics for the term ending March 1, 2027. <br />Following further discussion, a substitute motion was made by Councilmember Edwards <br />and seconded by Councilmember Cervantes to appoint Alycia Benson to the Ward 4 <br />seat on the Board of Ethics for the term ending March 1, 2027. The motion carried with <br />Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, and Councilwoman <br />Plascencia voting aye, Councilmembers Conder and Perry voting no and <br />Councilmember Hemenway absent. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITYWIDE SEAT <br />The Mayor and City Council interviewed Launa K. Wilson, Mark D. Berg, Tina Patel, Robin <br />C. Treen, and Thomas H. Safford for the Citywide seat on the Planning Commission for the <br />term ending March 1, 2024. <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Mayor Lock Dawson and seconded by <br />Councilmember Cervantes to appoint Launa K. Wilson to the Citywide seat on the <br />Planning Commission for the term ending March 1, 2024. <br />Following further discussion, a substitute motion was made by Councilmember Perry and <br />seconded Councilmember Conder to appoint Robin Treen to the Citywide seat on the <br />Planning Commission for the term ending March 1, 2024. The motion failed with <br />Councilmembers Conder and Perry voting aye, Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers <br />Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, and Councilwoman Plascencia voting no and <br />Councilmember Hemenway absent <br />Subsequently, the original motion carried to appoint Launa K. Wilson to the Citywide seat <br />on the Planning Commission for the term ending March 1, 2024, with Councilmembers <br />Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Perry, and Councilwoman Plascencia voting aye, <br />Councilmember Conder voting no, and Councilmember Hemenway absent. <br />
