Date: 2-21-23
Item No.: 21
From: Tyler Madary <tyler.madary@gmail.com>
Sent: Friday, February 10, 2023 9:33:35 PM
To: Edwards, Erin <EEdwards@rive rsideca.gov>
Cc: Montes, Paloma <PMontes@riversideca.gov>
Subject: [External] Redistricting Preferences
Councilmember Edwards,
I would like to register my support for Draft Maps D and D5. I believe these maps maximize CVAP potential while
minimizing the splitting of underserved communities.
I believe Draft Maps A3 and B are too close to the current lines, which I think places too much deference to incumbent
residency.
I am greatly concerned by the Draft Map C series, which splits up the Eastside Neighborhood.
And, I am equally concerned by Draft Maps D3 and D4, which harmfully carves up the Arlanza neighborhood, drawing
Norte Vista High School and Ag Park into the downtown ward.
Thank you for your consideration. I know how challenging redistricting discussions can be.
Tyler Madary
4278 12th St, Riverside, CA 92501
tyler.madary@gmail.com cc Mayor
City Council
City Manager
City Attorney
ACMs
City Clerk
