On behalf of the Brown and Black Redistricting Alliance, a coalition of diverse community based organizations, groups, and community members, I am writing about Agenda Item No. 21, Re Shape Riverside Redistricting Process. I am sharing our coalition's community of interests and submission of Brown and Black Redistricting Alliance Draft Map A3. My family and I have lived in our Arlington residence for over 50 years and this is where I developed a neighborhood watch group. We staunchly support Map A3 Modification because it best represents our communities of interests. Map A3 Modification is the only map that has three Voting Rights Act/Latino Majority wards. It has all of the North Side Specific Plan in one ward and has a ward (Downtown/Eastside/Northside) with an African American Communities of Interests. Map A3 Modification keeps 15 neighborhood communities together and protects the integrity of the city. The majority of people in my neighborhood is of Mexican, Black, and Salvadoran ancestry. Spanish (and some English) is the language predominantly spoken in my neighborhood. This is a lower middle income, working class community. Please note that my neighbors shop at surrounding Tyler and Magnolia Avenue businesses. Please vote to support Map A3 Modification. Thank you. Frances J.
