RPU -7960 FOR RIVERSIDE TRANSMISSION RELIABILITY <br />PROJECT RIVERSIDE ENERGY RESOURCE CENTER TO FREEMAN LINE <br />69KV MATERIALS HANDLING AND LOGISTICS TO PAR WESTERN LINE <br />CONTRACTORS OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $393,325.44; AND WORK ORDER NO. 2311468 FOR A TOTAL CAPITAL <br />EXPENDITURE OF $483,000 <br />ISSUES: <br />Consider awarding Bid No. RPU -7960 for the handling and logistics of materials for the 69kV sub - <br />transmission line work of the Riverside Transmission Reliability Project (RTRP) Riverside Energy <br />Resource Center (RERC) to Freeman Substation to PAR Western Line Contractors, of Rancho <br />Cucamonga, California, in the amount of $393,325.44; and approve Work Order No. 2311468 for <br />the total capital expenditure of $483,000 for the purpose of tracking costs related to RTRP RERC <br />to Freeman 69kV material handling work as part of RTRP Work Order No. 642975. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br />1. Award a construction contract for Bid No. RPU -7960 for the handling and logistics of <br />materials for the 69kV sub -transmission line work of the RTRP RERC to Freeman <br />Substation to PAR Western Line Contractors, of Rancho Cucamonga, California, in the <br />amount of $393,325.44; <br />2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the construction contract, including <br />making minor and non -substantive changes; and <br />3. Approve Work Order No. 2311468 for the total capital expenditure of $483,000 for the <br />purpose of tracking costs related to RTRP RERC to Freeman 69kV material handling work <br />as part of RTRP Work Order No. 642975. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The RTRP is a joint project with Southern California Edison (SCE) to provide Riverside a second <br />connection to the state electric transmission grid to address the capacity and reliability needs of <br />the city. As part of RTRP, improvements are made to RPU's sub -transmission system within the <br />
