BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />MINUTES <br />MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2023, 6:30 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN-PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City fArts&,Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET, RIVERSIDE, CA 92522 <br />PRESENT: Chair David Crohn, Vice Chair Rebeccah Goldware, and Board Members <br />Rosemary Heru, Nancy Melendez, Gary Montgomery, Gil Oceguera, and <br />Peter Wohlgemuth <br />ABSENT: Member Nipunjeet Gujral <br />Chair Crohn called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />Vice Chair Goldware led the pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Malissa McKeith spoke regarding Riverside's water rights. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />Power Resources Manager Tracy Sato provided the Riverside Public Utilities sustainability <br />efforts update. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />It was moved by Member Oceguera and seconded by Member Melendez to approve the <br />Consent Calendar as presented below affirming the actions appropriate to each item. The <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />MINUTES <br />The minutes of the meeting of January 9, 2023, were approved as presented. <br />SECOND AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES AGREEMENT - WATER COST <br />OF SERVICE ANALYSIS AND RATE DESIGN <br />The Board of Public Utilities recommended that the City Council approve a Second <br />Amendment to the Professional Consultant Services Agreement for Water Cost of Service <br />Analysis and Rate Design with Carollo Engineers, Inc., Riverside, increasing the contract <br />amount by $40,000 for a total revised contract amount of $214,832. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />WORK ORDER 2302559 - UPGRADE PROTECTION AND AUTOMATION SYSTEMS - PROTECTION <br />SYSTEM UPGRADE PROJECT - HARVEY LYNN SUBSTATION SWITCHGEAR 5 <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Member Montgomery and seconded by Member <br />Oceguera to approve the capital expenditure for Work Order 2302559 in the amount of <br />$383,000 including design, construction, procurement, testing and commissioning, and <br />construction support for upgrading the protection and automation systems at Harvey Lynn <br />Substation Switchgear No. 5. The motion carried unanimously. <br />
