BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES MINUTES MONDAY, JANUARY 23, 2023, 6:30 P.M. PUBLIC COMMENT IN-PERSON/TELEPHONE City fArts&,Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER 3900 MAIN STREET, RIVERSIDE, CA 92522 PRESENT: Chair David Crohn, Vice Chair Rebeccah Goldware, and Board Members Rosemary Heru, Nancy Melendez, Gary Montgomery, Gil Oceguera, and Peter Wohlgemuth ABSENT: Member Nipunjeet Gujral Chair Crohn called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Vice Chair Goldware led the pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE Malissa McKeith spoke regarding Riverside's water rights. COMMUNICATIONS Power Resources Manager Tracy Sato provided the Riverside Public Utilities sustainability efforts update. CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Member Oceguera and seconded by Member Melendez to approve the Consent Calendar as presented below affirming the actions appropriate to each item. The motion carried unanimously. MINUTES The minutes of the meeting of January 9, 2023, were approved as presented. SECOND AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL CONSULTANT SERVICES AGREEMENT - WATER COST OF SERVICE ANALYSIS AND RATE DESIGN The Board of Public Utilities recommended that the City Council approve a Second Amendment to the Professional Consultant Services Agreement for Water Cost of Service Analysis and Rate Design with Carollo Engineers, Inc., Riverside, increasing the contract amount by $40,000 for a total revised contract amount of $214,832. DISCUSSION CALENDAR WORK ORDER 2302559 - UPGRADE PROTECTION AND AUTOMATION SYSTEMS - PROTECTION SYSTEM UPGRADE PROJECT - HARVEY LYNN SUBSTATION SWITCHGEAR 5 Following discussion, it was moved by Member Montgomery and seconded by Member Oceguera to approve the capital expenditure for Work Order 2302559 in the amount of $383,000 including design, construction, procurement, testing and commissioning, and construction support for upgrading the protection and automation systems at Harvey Lynn Substation Switchgear No. 5. The motion carried unanimously.
