1. What are the common interests in your community? Describe how they are important: <br />There are many cor nlori interesm that make the people and the nexghborhood of Casa Banca special. Majority of the people who five in this neighborhood are families who have <br />lived here for generations. We have a larcde population of sersinr citizens, as ueX as a majority pnpuAk4tion that is bilir-Tual. Atrnost every persQn in Casa 9[ana is Chicano) Wispanicl <br />Latino! A Berson of Color. Additionally, mrnt it not all of the families here are middle to lower class worJdng families that da phsyrcal labor or are in the service industry. (hese irttemsts are <br />all irttponam to our community because they make the community what it is and they mkne us who we are. We all share a 9imirar svuggte and are able to come together in commun ty <br />and support one another through community events and mutual aid- Casa Blanca and the people who live here rely on one another and ourselves to solve the issues that our <br />comma iky as a whole Faces, especialy since we are aWays negelected, looked over, and ignored from city counct and the council member who respresents us (Chuck Cunder of <br />Ward Ay Our common interests is that we are all we have and we as a community have held Casa Blanca mgether for decades and through generations. <br />2. Explain the geographical location of your community of interest, What are the physical boundaries? <br />Physical Community Boundaries- From, the 91 rreevvay Indiana Ave/ Washington Mary Street/ Victoria ave/ Jefferson <br />Where the 3 Palm trees stand on Railroad Ave where the Original Train Depot was built bringing in Lhe main lines <br />of Citrus to be processed in the Packing houses here called Victoria Packing house and then on Lincoln -the <br />Citrus Packing House <br />1 What is the rationale for your community of interest to be used in the City Council re -boundary process? <br />Please describe how the issues before the City Council has an impact on your community. <br />We wart our Community (CASA BLANCA.1 to finally be heard a nd to he given the resol trr_m that we have lacked formany years due to poor council lead ership. The re -bounce ry <br />prates can negatively impact our neighborhood by grouping us into boundaries that coriOntre to be oveAx*ed and underfunded, or we can RnaNy get the resources and support <br />that the whole commurtity needs- We dorrt want to be Snored anymore, and we else don't want our community to be changed or added order to allow For things like gen ttiFcawn <br />where all the ramilies who have been here faryears are pushed out. chis is OUR unique community that VVE built.
