<br /> <br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: DECEMBER 12, 2022 <br /> <br /> <br />CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM UPDATES THROUGH OCTOBER 2022 <br />Customer Engagement is funded by Assembly Bill (AB) 1890 that was adopted in 1996. The Bill <br />requires publicly owned utilities to establish and collect a Public Benefits Charge and spend it in <br />four areas: low-income assistance, energy efficiency and conservation programs, renewable <br />energy, and research, development, and demonstration projects. <br />The Customer Engagement Team provides and processes a robust and diverse range of <br />assistance and rebate programming; the team also conducts significant education and outreach <br />to support these programs, as well as energy efficiency and water conservation messaging for <br />customers and the wider community. <br />CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT OCTOBER 2022 HIGHLIGHTS <br />Residential <br />A. <br />customers from July through October 2022 totaling $764,130. <br />B. Energy Savings Assistance Program (ESAP) assisted 457 customers from July through <br />October 2022 and expended $244,348.27. <br />C. Emergency Recovery Assistance Program (ERAP) from July 2022 through October 2022, <br />approved 247 applications and $98,742 in assistance. <br />D. Electric Vehicle (EV) Rebate Program processed from July 2022 through October 2022 a <br />total of 25 applications with $12,900.72 for customer benefits. <br />Commercial <br />A. Processed a total of 22 large commercial rebates from July 2022 through October 2022 for <br />a total of $96,360.04 and a kWh savings of 1,392,015.03. <br />Education <br />A. Virtual Electricity and Water Cycle classes have begun. <br />B. <br />C. High School Designing Solutions Essay Contest has been promoted. <br />Communications <br />A. Installed an outdoor billboard at the corner of Magnolia and Central reminding the <br />community to conserve water. <br />B. Celebrated Public Power Week, Customer Service Week, Water Professionals <br />Appreciation Week, and Imagine A Day Without Water on 10/20. <br /> <br />
