RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: OCTOBER 24, 2022 SUBJECT: RFP NO. 2212 - AGREEMENT FOR GENERAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC UTILITIES PROPERTIES WITH MARIPOSA LANDSCAPES, INC., OF IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM THROUGH JUNE 30, 2024, IN THE AMOUNT OF $533,001.04, AND WITH THREE OPTIONAL ONE-YEAR EXTENSIONS ISSUE: Consider approving an Agreement for General Landscape Maintenance Services for Various Public Utilities Properties from RFP No. 2212 with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc., of Irwindale, California, for a two-year term through June 30, 2024, in the amount of $533,001.04, and with three optional one-year extensions. RECOMMENDATIONS: That the Board of Public Utilities: 1. Approve the Agreement for General Landscape Maintenance Services for Various Public Utilities Properties from RFP No. 2212 with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc., of Irwindale, California, for a two-year term through June 30, 2024, in the amount of $533,001.04, and with three optional one-year extensions; and 2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the project described herein, including the three optional one-year extensions, and the ability to make minor and non-substantive changes in alignment with all purchasing policies. BACKGROUND: The City of Riverside Public Utilities Department (RPU) owns 82 properties located in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties that require various levels of general landscape maintenance, irrigation repairs, debris and trash removal, and minor upgrades on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to keep these sites aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained. An extension to the landscape maintenance contract with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc., was approved by the Board of Public Utilities (Board) on June 28, 2021, for $250,743, which expired on June 30, 2022. Staff informed the Board a new Request for Proposals (RFP) would be released in 2022 seeking proposals accordance with the Ccompetitive procurement process.
