<br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Board Memorandum <br /> <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: OCTOBER 24, 2022 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: RFP NO. 2212 - AGREEMENT FOR GENERAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE <br />SERVICES FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC UTILITIES PROPERTIES WITH MARIPOSA <br />LANDSCAPES, INC., OF IRWINDALE, CALIFORNIA FOR A TWO-YEAR TERM <br />THROUGH JUNE 30, 2024, IN THE AMOUNT OF $533,001.04, AND WITH <br />THREE OPTIONAL ONE-YEAR EXTENSIONS <br />ISSUE: <br />Consider approving an Agreement for General Landscape Maintenance Services for Various <br />Public Utilities Properties from RFP No. 2212 with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc., of Irwindale, <br />California, for a two-year term through June 30, 2024, in the amount of $533,001.04, and with <br />three optional one-year extensions. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br />1. Approve the Agreement for General Landscape Maintenance Services for Various Public <br />Utilities Properties from RFP No. 2212 with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc., of Irwindale, <br />California, for a two-year term through June 30, 2024, in the amount of $533,001.04, and <br />with three optional one-year extensions; and <br />2. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute any documents necessary to <br />effectuate the project described herein, including the three optional one-year extensions, <br />and the ability to make minor and non-substantive changes in alignment with all purchasing <br />policies. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The City of Riverside Public Utilities Department (RPU) owns 82 properties located in San <br />Bernardino and Riverside Counties that require various levels of general landscape maintenance, <br />irrigation repairs, debris and trash removal, and minor upgrades on a weekly, monthly, and <br />quarterly basis to keep these sites aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained. <br />An extension to the landscape maintenance contract with Mariposa Landscapes, Inc., was <br />approved by the Board of Public Utilities (Board) on June 28, 2021, for $250,743, which expired <br />on June 30, 2022. Staff informed the Board a new Request for Proposals (RFP) would be <br />released in 2022 seeking proposals accordance with the Ccompetitive procurement process. <br /> <br />
