Therefore, please accept this letter in lieu. We are owners of a 5 -unit apartment located at 3897 Roosevelt Street. This apartment is adjacent to Arlington Park and directly across from Liberty Elementary School. We are adamantly OPPOSED to any rate increase as follows: (a) "General Business Promotions" o Since inception, my rentals have never been promoted, highlighted, marketed or advertised. In addition, businesses provide their own promotions, marketing and advertising. (b) "Business Activities" • We understand these activities can be found on the City Clerk's page but we cannot locate this report. This report should be mailed to every member for review and a notation be made as to where this report can be located on the City Clerk's Web page. In addition, a yearly line -item balance statement reflecting how this money is spent should be provided for accountability. (c) "Promotion of Events" o Unless businesses have the opportunity to provide approval and benefits from upcoming events, vendors and participants should be fiscal responsible. (d) "Advertising to promote area businesses" o This expense is redundant since businesses typically provide their own advertising, especially with Social Media which is mostly free to business owners. Also, this advertising appears to be selective.
