<br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: SEPTEMBER 26, 2022 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR INSTALLATION OF CARD ACCESS <br />CONTROLLERS FOR THE VEHICULAR GATES AT THE UTILITIES <br />OPERATION CENTER WITH STANLEY CONVERGENT SECURITY <br />SOLUTIONS, INC., OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$120,954.25, WORK ORDER NO. 2207612 IN THE AMOUNT OF $162,000 <br />ISSUES: <br />Consider approving a Services Agreement for installation of card access controllers for the <br />vehicular gates at the Utilities Operation Center with Stanley Convergent Security Solutions Inc., <br />of Riverside, California, in the amount of $120,954.25 and Work Order No. 2207612 in the amount <br />of $162,000. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br /> <br />1. Approve a Services Agreement for installation of card access controllers for the vehicular <br />gates at the Utilities Operation Center with Stanley Convergent Security Solutions Inc., of <br />Riverside, California, in the amount of $120,954.25; <br /> <br />2. Approve Work Order No. 2207612 in the amount of $162,000; and <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the Services Agreement, including <br />making minor and non-substantive changes. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In November 2019, a security evaluation was conducted by Securicon for the Utilities Operation <br />Center (UOC) to identify security enhancements. Following the evaluation, the consultant <br />recommended to secure the interior vehicular gates by installing additional access card readers. <br />The City utilizes Stanley Convergent Security Solutions (Stanley) card readers at each of the <br />security gates, however, solely on the exterior of the vehicular gates, as employees enter into the <br />Corporation Yard. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Staff is proposing construction which will include a safety island to separate the flow of traffic as <br />staff enters and exits the UOC Corporation Yard. <br /> <br />
