RPU-7924 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WATER <br />TRANSMISSION MAIN VALVE REPLACEMENT PROJECT (PHASE V) TO <br />FERREIRA CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC DBA FERREIRA COASTAL <br />CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, IN <br />THE AMOUNT OF $1,672,702 PLUS 10% CHANGE ORDER AUTHORITY; <br />WORK ORDER NO. 2221270 IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,174,000 <br />ISSUES: <br />Consider awarding Bid No. RPU-7924 for the construction of the Water Transmission Main Valve <br />Replacement Project (Phase V) to Ferreira Construction Company, Inc. dba Ferreira Coastal <br />Construction Company of Rancho Cucamonga, California, in the amount of $1,672,702, plus 10% <br />change order authority in the amount of $167,270; and the capital expenditure for Work Order No. <br />2221270 in the amount of $2,174,000. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br />1. Award Bid No. RPU-7924 for the construction of the Water Transmission Main Valve <br />Replacement Project (Phase V) to Ferreira Construction Company, Inc. dba Ferreira <br />Coastal Construction Company of Rancho Cucamonga, California, in the amount of <br />$1,672,702; <br />2. Authorize change orders in an amount not to exceed 10% of the original contract price, or <br />$167,270.20; <br />3. Approve the capital expenditure for Work Order No. 2221270 in the amount of $2,174,000 <br />which includes all design, construction, construction support, contract administration, <br />inspection and construction change order authority costs for the Water Transmission Main <br />Valve Replacement Project (Phase V); and <br /> <br />4. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute any documents necessary to <br />effectuate the project described herein, as well as the ability to make minor non-substantive <br />changes in alignment with all purchasing policies. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) evaluated 24-inch and larger valves as part of its Transmission <br />Main Valve Replacement Program (TMVRP) to identify critical valves in need of replacement for <br /> <br />
