City Council Memorandum City of Arts &.Innovation TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL DATE: AUGUST 16, 2022 FROM: PARKS, RECREATION AND COMMUNITY WARDS: ALL SERVICES DEPARTMENT SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS AND TRANSFER OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $66,552.67 — SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATION ISSUE: Accept $66,552.67 in donations received by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department and approve a funds transfer and supplemental appropriation in the same amount. RECOMMENDATIONS: That the City Council: 1. Accept monetary donations in the amount of $66,552.67 received by Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department; 2. With at least five affirmative votes, authorize the Chief Financial Officer, or designee, to record supplemental appropriations in the Grants and Restricted Programs Fund totaling $66,552.67, comprised of the following programs within the Grants and Restricted Programs Fund: $15,050.75 for Aquatics, $18,661.92 for Special Events, $32,000 for the Riverside Arts Academy, and $840 for Senior Programming. BACKGROUND: Donations come from a variety of sources, including local businesses, community groups, organizations, and individuals. Contributions support various events and programs including Aquatics, Riverside Arts Academy, and various special events. The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (PRCSD) is appreciative of all donors and expresses its gratitude in a variety of ways, including sending thank you letters, providing donor recognition on brochures, flyers, and advertisements, as well as announcements at programs and events. DISCUSSION: Donations supporting PRCSD programs and events total $66,552.67 for the time period of December 2017 through October 2021. The following is a list of monetary donations received:
