CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />• - 9 TUESDAY, JULY 5, 2022, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City of Arts &,Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Michael McCarthy spoke regarding March JPA warehouse development. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported that parking rates for the Downtown area will be <br />discussed at the July 19 City Council meeting and announced the Miracles and Dreams <br />Foundation backpack drive at the Main Library, Northside Improvement Association <br />meeting, and the Firework Show. Councilmember Cervantes reported on the Mural <br />Unveiling at Riverside Faith Temple Church and State funding for Cesar Chavez Park <br />renovation. Councilmember Conder reported on Concert for Heroes. Councilwoman <br />Plascencia thanked State representatives for advocating for funds for Citrus State Park <br />and reported on AT&T donation of $20,000 to The Family is All That Matters Group, meeting <br />with the Manager of the California Home for the Adult Deaf, office hours, and Annual <br />Porch Decorating contest winners. Councilmembers Perry and Hemenway reported on <br />the Firework Show at La Sierra Park. Mayor Lock Dawson thanked the City Manager's <br />Office for putting together a list of priorities for State funding and reported on additional <br />State funding of $47 million awarded for research programs on climate and the <br />environment and $51 million for campus improvements to University of California, <br />Riverside, $10.4 million awarded to Trujillo Adobe, and Beautify Riverside launched by the <br />Mayor's Office. <br />The Financial Performance and Budget Committee will conduct an in person and virtual <br />meeting on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 1 p.m., in the Art Pick Council Chamber. <br />
