CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />• ' , TUESDAY, JUNE 7, 2022, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City fArts&,Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:07 p.m. <br />Pastor Ramsey of Unity Fellowship Church gave the Invocation. <br />Councilmember Edwards led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Ben McCarthy spoke regarding neighbors opposing warehousing and the need for a <br />warehouse moratorium. Jason Sandoval, Bill Suhar, Eric Murray, and David Jimenez spoke <br />about the parking rate increase proposal in Downtown. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on a meeting with neighbors who live on Ladera <br />Lane, a meeting with Downtown business owners to discuss parking, Cultural Policy <br />Symposium, Riverside Community Sailing Program at Fairmount Park, Bibbs Museum <br />event at White Park, Keep Riverside Cleanup event, and Northside Improvement <br />Association meeting at Ruth Lewis Community Center at Reid Park. Councilmember <br />Cervantes thanked California Air Resource Board (CARB) for hosting an Open House, <br />University of California, Riverside (UCR) hosting the Women Leadership Conference where <br />she was a keynote speaker, UCR Native American Student Services for hosting the UCR <br />Pow Wow event, artists and sponsors for Storefront revitalization project and mural on <br />12th Street and Park Avenue, and acknowledged Del Roberts and Ofelia-Valdez Yeager <br />for their recent recognition. Councilmember Conder reported on Flag for Every Hero at <br />the Riverside National Cemetery and the need for volunteers for flags and donations, <br />State Route 60 Ribbon Cutting and thanked Riverside County Transportation Commission <br />for their efforts, Concert for Heros at the National Cemetery on Saturday, July 3, 2022 , <br />two community meetings in response to recent home robberies, and that he will be away <br />next week representing the March Joint Powers Authority in Washington, D.C. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia reported on Pride Month, Inland Coalition for Immigrant <br />Justice graduation, office hours at Hunt Park, St. Michael's Apartment affordable housing <br />project opened their interest list, 3rd Annual Porch Decorating Contest, and thanked <br />107-346 <br />
