Today (this is his second account), the gentleman in the wheelchair I previous mentioned in email was nearly killed today. One of his dogs was ran over. The driver was traveling at an extreme rate of speed I could hear the skidding from my house. Then I saw the car bounce over the curb and nearly hit them. I just saw a giant cloud of dirt. I ran over as fast as I could. This is how close it was... both dogs or on a 2 to 3 foot leash attached to his wheel chair. The DOG got ran over! YOU NEED TO PROTECT THE COMMUNITY WITH A TRAFFIC LIGHT CROSS WALK to help prevent a death some day. Drivers can not see people crossing since they are traveling up the hill. The attached pictures show the incident and the officer who come to interview the drivers business car with the file # on it. Side Note: I can not believe the poor level of concern with the 911 dispatcher and the rate in which it took to have the call go through. I had the phone ring for about 1 to 2 minutes before someone picked up. Then when I ask that an officer come to interview the driver they said if no one was injured they couldn't do anything about it. Unbelievable. So, what that is saying it that an impaired driver jumps the curb kills a persons dog, then drives away that fine since no PERSON was injured. Wait till PETA hears about this. I had a hang up on 911 and call Riverside Police instead. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
