BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />DRAFT MINUTES <br />MONDAY, MAY 9, 2022, 6:30 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN-PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />CiV of Arts &Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET, RIVERSIDE, CA 92522 <br />PRESENT: Chair David Crohn, Vice Chair Rebeccah Goldware, and Board Members <br />Deborah Cherney, Nipunjeet Gujral, Rosemary Heru, Nancy Melendez, <br />Gary Montgomery, and Gil Oceguera <br />ABSENT: Peter Wohlgemuth <br />Chair Crohn called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />Member Melendez led the pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There was no one wishing to address the Board of Public Utilities. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />It was moved by Member Melendez and seconded by Member Oceguera to approve the <br />Consent Calendar as presented below affirming the actions appropriate to each item. The <br />motion carried unanimously. <br />MINUTES <br />The minutes of the meeting of April 25, 2022, were approved as presented. <br />RECOMMEND CITY COUNCIL RETAIN HOLLAND AND HART - REPRESENTATION ON <br />NEGOTIATION OF POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT MATTERS <br />The Board of Public Utilities recommended that the City Council (1) approve an increase in <br />expenditures by $150,000 to continue to retain Holland and Hart to represent the City for the <br />negotiation of power purchase agreements for a total authorized expenditure of $200,000; <br />and (2) authorize the City Attorney to execute Engagement Letters to retain Holland and <br />Hart for the negotiation of power purchase agreements. <br />DISCUSSION CALENDAR <br />MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT AGREEMENT - ELECTRIC ADVANCED METER INFRASTRUCTURE <br />HEAD -END SYSTEM WITH ANNUAL AUTOMATIC RENEWAL FEES <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Member Oceguera and seconded by Vice Chair <br />Goldware to (1) approve the Maintenance and Support Agreement with Tantalus Systems, <br />Inc., a Delaware Corporation, for the continued use of the Electric Advanced Meter <br />Infrastructure Head -End System with annual automatic renewals, initial cost for fiscal year <br />2021-22 is $135,046; and (2) authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute the <br />
