CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MAY 3, 2022, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City ffArts &Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson and Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, <br />Conder, Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Errol Koschowitz spoke about the City's sponsorship with the Chamber of Commerce. <br />Patrick Maloney announced Spike and Mike's Sick and Twisted Festival of Animation, <br />Mission Riverside, Wednesday Open Mic Night at the Back to the Grind restaurant and <br />the Hideaway Cafe. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on Wood Streets yard sale, Insect Fair, Tweed Ride, <br />Donor Appreciation Reception in front of the Harada House, Northside Improvement <br />Association meeting discussing the Northside Specific Plan and wished all mothers a <br />Happy Mother's Day. Councilmember Cervantes reported on Community Workshop on <br />Art hosted by Riverside Community Health Foundation Real Group, Latina Action Day, <br />Sycamore Canyon and Canyon Crest neighborhood meetings, and thanked community <br />partners for hosting various events over the past weekend. Councilmember Conder <br />reported on a going away party for Pam and Dan Nusser (owners of Smokey Canyon <br />Barbeque Restaurant) and wished all mothers a Happy Mother's Day. Councilwoman <br />Plascencia reported on Norte Vista High School Student Survey and advocacy at the <br />State Capitol, Southern California Association Government Workshops on Workforce <br />Development, office hours at Hunt Park and youth office hours. Councilmember Perry <br />reported on Alvord Student Visioning event, a Falconer at March Joint Power Authority, <br />Riverside Energy Resource Center and Heritage House visits. Councilmember Hemenway <br />reported on La Sierra University Alumni weekend and the Insect Fair. Mayor Lock Dawson <br />reported on Riverside named one of the Best Small Business Cities in America, visit from <br />Deputy Secretary for US Treasury and California's Chief Service Officer in the Governor's <br />Office regarding the Youth Job Corps Grant at the Bourns Youth Innovation Center. <br />107-313 <br />
