CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />• TUESDAY, MARCH 22, 2022, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City ofArts &.Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson and Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, <br />Conder, Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. <br />Pastor Michael Jenkins of Kansas Avenue Seventh-Day Adventist Church gave the <br />Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on California Air Resource Board (CARB) meeting; <br />Junior League virtual speaking event; Quilt Exhibit event at the Heritage House; Nights at <br />the Museum, virtual meeting regarding The Commons Development in the Heritage <br />Square neighborhood, community event on the 5 -year plan to reduce homelessness at <br />the Stratton Center, and the Tequesquite Community Garden open house. <br />Councilmembers Fierro and Hemenway reported on National League of Cities <br />conference in Washington, DC. Councilmember Conder reported on Good Morning <br />Corona and March Joint Powers Authority donation toward the Veteran Memorial Wall. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia reported on the tragic accidents in Ward 5 and expressed <br />gratitude to the Police and Fire Departments, thanked Lieutenant Misenheimer and the <br />Public Safety Engagement Team (PSET) for continued support in the community and <br />Ward 5 Keep Riverside Clean and Beautiful event. Councilmember Perry reported on a <br />community meeting with business partners on homelessness. Mayor Lock Dawson <br />reported on National League of Cities conference in Washington, DC, Sandals Church <br />Day of Service on April 9, 2022, and the blood drive at City Hall. <br />CEREMONIAL PRESENTATION <br />WAIVE SUNSHINE ORDINANCE - SWEAR IN PARKS AND NEIGHBORHOOD SPECIALISTS - <br />PARKS AND NEIGHBORHOOD SPECIALIST PROGRAM <br />Following discussion, motion was made by Councilmember Conder and seconded by <br />Councilmember Perry to waive the Sunshine Ordinance to swear in four Parks and <br />Neighborhood Specialists for the Parks and Neighborhood Specialist Program. <br />107-269 <br />
