CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />01 • - = TUESDAY, MARCH 1, 2022, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City ofArts & Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />The Invocation was given by Dr. Noemi Alexander of California Baptist University. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Patrick Maloney spoke regarding a new show with Tim Brown of KCAL radio called Mission <br />Riverside and other events in the City. Jason Hunter spoke regarding the agreement <br />amendment for the GrowRiverside Conference. Mina Kim spoke regarding Senate <br />Bill 1383 regarding waste reduction. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on Historic Courthouse installation of panels telling the <br />story of the Harada House; co -hosted a community meeting with Integrity Housing <br />regarding The Commons development, Affordable Dwelling Unit Workshop and office <br />hours at the Main Library. Councilmember Cervantes reported on renaming of the Post <br />Office on Chicago Avenue in honor of Woodie Rucker -Hughes, University of California, <br />Riverside Chicano Alumni trash pickup, Eastside Arthouse Workshop, a Tree People tree <br />planting event, mural at a basketball court in the Casa Blanca community, and thanked <br />Councilwoman Plascencia for attending the ribbon cutting for MG Custom Printing. <br />Councilmember Conder reported on Celebration of Life services for Ron Rose and <br />Charlie Keys. Councilwoman Plascencia reported on an award recognition by Bordando <br />Nuestras Raices to the Northgate Gonzalez Family, and a ribbon cutting event in Ward 2. <br />Councilmember Perry reported on Celebration of Life service for Charlie Keys, Mariposa <br />Alley 2.0 - Butterfly wall at Foothill Elementary, and a community meeting for business <br />owners regarding homelessness at La Sierra Senior Center. Councilmember Hemenway <br />reported on Riverside County Habitat Conservation Agency down listing the Stephen's <br />kangaroo rat from endangered to threatened, and recruitment of volunteers for Ward 7, <br />cleanup and Beautification Project. <br />107-247 <br />
