The Bill <br />requires publicly -owned utilities to collect and spend public benefits charge funds in four areas: <br />low-income assistance, energy efficiency and conservation programs, renewable energy, and <br />research, development, and demonstration projects. <br />The Customer Engagement Team has maintained its momentum while following the City's <br />COVID-19 safety protocols. A good amount of outreach was undertaken in January and the <br />community's interest and participation in programs and rebates has remained consistent. <br />CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT HIGHLIGHTS <br />Residential <br />A. Sharing Households Assist Riverside's Energy (SHARE) program assisted 2,098 electric <br />customers from July 2021 through January 2022 totaling $708,055 <br />B. Emergency Recovery Assistance Program (ERAP) from July 2021 through January 2022, <br />approved 415 applications and $165,956 in assistance <br />C. RPU processed a total of 193 water rebates in collaboration with regional stakeholder <br />Municipal Water District. <br />D. New Electric Vehicle (EV) Rebate Program processed 43 applications with $14,102 for <br />customer benefits <br />Commercial <br />A. Processed a total of 28 commercial electric rebates <br />B. Waiting to finalize new construction rebates for the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art <br />Educational <br />A. Conducted 110 Electricity Circuits virtual classes with a total of 2,838 participants July 2021 <br />through January 2022 <br />B. Conducted 22 Virtual Water Cycle classes with a total of 720 participants July 2021 through <br />January 2022 <br />C. Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) Public Utilities Learning Lab (PULL) <br />planning meetings for 2022 have begun <br />D. Registration for STEM PULL is now open <br />E. 22 Essays were submitted in the 2021 High School Engineering Essay Contest <br />
