City ofArts 8Z Innovation CITY COUNCIL SUCCESSOR AGENCY MINUTES TUESDAY, JANUARY 11, 2022, 1 P.M. VIRTUAL MEETING 3900 MAIN STREET CLOSED SESSIONS The Mayor and City Council adjourned to closed sessions at 2:22 p.m. pursuant to Government Code (1) §54956.9(d)(1) to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning Karina Y. Huerta, et al. v City of Riverside, et al., Riverside County Superior Court Case No. RIC 1501115; (2) §54956.9(d)(1) to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning Sean Wilder v City of Riverside, et al., Riverside County Superior Court Case No. RIC2000614; (3) §54956.9(d)(1) to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning Riversiders Against Increased Taxes v. City of Riverside, et al., Riverside Superior Court Case No. CVRI 2104120; (4) §54956.9(d) (2) to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning significant exposure to litigation - one case; (5) §54956.9(d) (4) to confer with and/or receive advice from legal counsel concerning the City Council deciding whether to initiate litigation - one case; and (6) §54957.6 to review the City Council's position and instruct designated representatives regarding salaries, salary schedules, or compensation paid in the form of fringe benefits of all Executive Management employees including the City Attorney and City Clerk, all Management and Confidential employees as defined by PERS, Fire Management Unit, Riverside City Firefighters Association, Riverside Police Officers Association (Police and Police Supervisory Units), Service Employees International Union #721, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #47, and Riverside Police Administrators Association. RECESS The City Council reconvened at 6:15 p.m. with Mayor Lock Dawson presiding and all Councilmembers present. Councilmember Perry gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS Councilmember Edwards reported on Big Tent Tour, an upcoming Inclusionary Housing meeting, and virtual office hours for January 27, 2022. Councilmember Cervantes reported that the Martin Luther King Day of Service tree planting event at Bordwell Park for January 17, 2022, is cancelled, the Riverside County Transportation Commission comment period regarding the Riverside Downtown Metrolink Station improvements will continue through February 3, 2022, and the January neighborhood meeting for Ward 2 will be virtual. Councilwoman Plascencia reported on the League of California Cities Riverside County Regional meeting, the upcoming Cheech Gala, and the State budget. Councilmember Hemenway reported on the Hidden Valley Nature Center open house of January 8, 2022. Mayor Lock Dawson reported on the Big Tent Tour.
