CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />• TUESDAY, JANUARY 4, 2022, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City ofArts &.Innovation VIRTUAL MEETING <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Hemenway <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There was no one wishing to address the City Council. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on I Love IE at Fremont Elementary, tour of <br />Riverbottom with Councilmember Aleman from Norco, Mayor Big Tent Tour, and Three <br />Kings Day at Trujillo Adobe event. Councilmember Cervantes reported on Peacekeeper <br />Ministries toy giveaway, Riverside Community Health Foundation and UCR'Garden meal <br />giveaway, and thanked local pastors, Police Department and others for assisting a family <br />in need. Councilmember Conder wished Council Assistant Arreola a happy birthday. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia reported on the Market Gift Card Drive during the holiday <br />season, cancelling in-person meetings in January, and Ward 5 annual review newsletter. <br />Councilmember Perry thanked the organizations that supported families in need during <br />the holiday season. Mayor Lock Dawson reported on the boards and commissions <br />information session for March 2022 and the Big Tent Tour at Central Middle School. <br />ANNOUNCEMENT OF COMMITTEE MEETING <br />The City Council Inclusiveness, Community Engagement, and Governmental Processes <br />Committee will meet virtually at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. <br />MAYOR PRO TEM APPOINTMENT <br />Mayor Lock Dawson presented a plaque to Councilwoman Plascencia for her dedicated <br />service as Mayor Pro Tem from July through December 2021. <br />Following discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Cervantes and seconded by <br />Councilmember Edwards to appoint Councilmember Conder as Mayor Pro Tem for <br />1 :� <br />
