IN THE AMOUNT OF $92,931.30 AND WORK <br />ORDER NO. 2121575 FOR A TOTAL CAPITAL EXPENDITURE OF $142,000 <br />ISSUES: <br />Consider the approval of the streetlight installation component of Public Works Bid No. 7845 for <br />Fiscal Year 2020/21 Community Development Block Grant Ward 2 Street Improvements for <br />Dwight Avenue from Linden Street to Minnesota Street Project with IE General Engineering, Inc. <br />in the amount of $92,931.30 and Work Order No. 2121575 for a total capital expenditure of <br />$142,000. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br />1. Approve the streetlight installation component of Public Works Bid No. 7845 for Fiscal Year <br />2020/21 Community Development Block Grant Ward 2 Street Improvements for Dwight <br />Avenue from Linden Street to Minnesota Street Project with IE General Engineering, Inc., <br />of Beaumont, California in the amount of $92,931.30; and <br /> <br />2. Approve the capital expenditure for Work Order No. 2121575 in the amount of $142,000 <br />which includes all design, construction, construction support, contract administration, <br />inspection, and construction change order authority costs for the streetlight installation <br />component of the project. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), as a part of the United States Department of <br />Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides annual funding to local entitlement <br />communities for a wide range of programs, such as infrastructure, affordable housing, and <br />economic development. <br />On September 15, 2020, the City Council approved and appropriated the recommendations from <br />the Community and Economic Development Department for CDBG funding for the Program Year <br />2020/21. Public Works (PW) contractor will soon be starting construction work for the CDBG <br />Ward 2 Street Improvements for Dwight Avenue from Linden Street to Minnesota Street Project. <br /> <br />
