CITY OF <br />RJVERSIDE <br />City of Arts &Innovation <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2021, 1 P.M. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Cervantes, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. <br />Councilmember Cervantes gave the Invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the <br />Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Ernesto Carbajal spoke regarding street sweeping and ticketing in front of commercial <br />buildings. Jason Hunter spoke regarding a former city employee, Southern California <br />Public Power Authority (SCPPA) and Measure MM. Tim Maloney spoke regarding the <br />request for proposal for parking management services of downtown parking facilities. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on the turkey drive, visit to Fairmont Park to identify <br />different needs for the parks, Chanukah Festival, visit to three encampments at the <br />Riverbottom, Downtown Partnership luncheon, Cinema festival, 2 years in office as <br />Councilmember, Riverside Philharmonic Concert, and Alternative Gift Fair. <br />Councilmember Cervantes reported on Chanukah Festival, congratulated California <br />School of the Deaf football team, Craving Crab Haus Restaurant opening, University of <br />California Riverside School of Public Policy, Snow Day at Bordwell Park, Sycamore Canyon <br />community meeting, Latino Network, Peacekeeper Ministry toy giveaway, and thanked <br />Sanitation and Public Work Department. Councilmember Fierro reported on Free Little <br />Pantry program and congratulated California School of the Deaf football team. <br />Councilmember Conder reported on Chanukah Festival, the Night of Remembrance at <br />Grove Community Church, and the 80th anniversary of Pearl Harbor. Councilwoman <br />Plascencia reported on Assemblywoman Cervantes visit to businesses in Ward 5, meeting <br />with Jennifer Gamble of The Weber House, Chanukah Festival, speaking event for women <br />of Carpenters Local Union, and partnering with the Riverside Police Department to collect <br />gift cards for families. Councilmember Perry reported on Chanukah Festival, working with <br />various non-profit organizations in providing needs for the holiday, Joint Power Authority <br />meeting, Arlington Business Partnership, Park Winter Wonderland, Victorian Heritage <br />Open House Christmas event, and the passing of Larry Allen. Councilmember <br />Hemenway reported on La Sierra Academy pre-school ribbon cutting, La Sierra University <br />107-155 <br />
