SUB-852 FOR PURCHASE OF STEEL STRUCTURES FOR THE NEW <br />FREEMAN SUBSTATION ELECTRICAL BAY WITH R&C WELDING & <br />FABRICATION INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF $128,484 <br />ISSUE: <br />Consider the award of Bid No. SUB-852 for the purchase of steel structures for the new Freeman <br />Substation Electrical Bay with R&C Welding & Fabrication, Inc., of Gering, Nebraska, in the <br />amount of $128,484. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br />1. Reject the bids submitted by OneSource Distributors of Riverside, CA, Hamby Young, Inc <br />of Aurora, Ohio, and Dis-Tran Steel, LLC of Pineville, LA as non-responsive; <br /> <br />2. Award Bid No. SUB-852 for the purchase of steel structures for the new Freeman <br />Substation Electrical Bay with R&C Welding & Fabrication, Inc., of Gering, Nebraska, in <br />the amount of $128,484; and <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute any documents necessary to <br />effectuate the procurement described herein, as well as the ability to make minor non- <br />substantive changes in alignment with all purchasing policies. <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Riverside Transmission Reliability Project (RTRP) is a joint project with Southern California <br />Edison (SCE) and will provide Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) with a critical second connection to <br />the state electric transmission grid by connecting to the existing 230kV SCE Mira Loma - Vista <br />line, to address long- The <br />Board approved the project Work Order No. 642975 on August 24, 2020, in the amount of <br />$216,515,521.
