<br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: SEPTEMBER 13, 2021 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: STREETLIGHT INSTALLATION COMPONENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BID NO. <br />7852 FOR LA SIERRA NEIGHBORHOOD SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT WITH LC PAVING & SEALING, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$291,419.11; AND WORK ORDER NO. 1926828 FOR A TOTAL OF $347,000 <br />ISSUES: <br />Consider approving the Streetlight Installation Component of Public Works Bid No. 7852 for La <br />Sierra Neighborhood Sidewalk Improvements Project with LC Paving & Sealing, Inc. in the <br />amount of $291,419.11; and approve Work Order No. 1926828 for a total capital expenditure of <br />$347,000. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br /> <br />1. Approve the Streetlight Installation component of Public Works Bid No. 7852 for La Sierra <br />Neighborhood Sidewalk Improvements Project with LC Paving & Sealing, Inc., of <br />Escondido, California in the amount of $291,419.11; <br /> <br />2. Approve the capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1926828 in the amount of $347,000 <br />which includes all design, construction, construction support, contract administration, <br />inspection and construction change order authority costs for the Streetlight Installation <br />Component of Public Works Bid No. 7852 for La Sierra Neighborhood Sidewalk <br />Improvements Project; and <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute any documents necessary to <br />effectuate the project described herein, as well as the ability to make minor non-substantive <br />changes in alignment with all purchasing policies. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On September 26, 2013, Governor Brown signed legislation creating the Active Transportation <br />Program (ATP) to be managed by the California Department of Transportation to encourage <br />increased use of active modes of transportation such as biking and walking. The call for Projects <br />for ATP Cycle III was issued in April 2016. <br />On June 15, 2016, the Public Works Department submitted a proposal seeking $999,000 of the <br />ATP Cycle III grant funds with a commitment for a local match of $216,000 for the construction of <br /> <br />
