<br /> RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br /> Board Memorandum <br /> <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: MAY 24, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 2020 URBAN WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN UPDATE AND WORKSHOP <br />ISSUE: <br /> <br />Consider receiving a progress update and holding a workshop on the 2020 Urban Water <br />Management Plan. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities receive an update and hold a workshop on the 2020 Urban Water <br />Management Plan. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On March 8, 2021, the Board of Public Utilities (Board) approved a Supplemental Agreement for <br />the preparation of the 2020 Riverside Public Utilities Urban Water Management Plan with Water <br />Systems Consulting, Inc., of Rancho Cucamonga (WSC), in an amount not to exceed $87,300. <br />An Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) is a required mandate to be prepared by every urban <br />water supplier as defined in the California Water Code Section 10610 through 10656 and must <br />These plans support the water <br />-term resource planning to ensure that adequate water supplies are available to <br />meet existing and future water needs. The 2020 update is due to the California Department of <br />Water Resources (DWR) on July 1, 2021. Consequently, Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) update <br />must be adopted and submitted to DWR prior to July 1, 2021. <br />ater demands and characterizes <br />the source waters available to meet those demands for the next 25 years.
