RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES
Board Memorandum

BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: MAY 10, 2021
GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT
SUBJECT: WA-12 AGRICULTURAL SERVICE WATER RATE REPORT MARCH 31, 2021
The City Council adopted the WA-12 Agricultural Service water rate schedule (WA-12) on
October 15, 2019, with an effective date of January 1, 2020. As a result, the previous
WA-3/WA-9 customers were required to apply for the new WA-12 water rate schedule effective
January 1, 2020, or transition to another applicable rate. Potential new customers began
submitting applications to be considered for the new WA-12 water rate schedule as of
January 2, 2020.
As of March 31, 2021, the WA-12 water rate schedule includes 214 customers of which
141 transitioned from the previous WA-3/WA-9. An estimated $381,947 of the annual program
allocation of $684,000 has been allocated.
As of January 1, 2021, the agricultural water allocation was updated using the rolling 15-year
monthly average ETo value weather data (2005-2019). Through March 31, 2021, customers used
approximately 49% of their estimated allotment of water or 50,381 CCF out of the allotted 101,918
CCF, for the three-month period.
The attached graphics include additional WA-12 Agricultural Service water rate and program
allocation information.
