<br />PRESENT: Chair Lyell, Vice -Chair Mendez, Commissioners Mousey, Burns, Pelzer,
<br />Arballo, Scarano, Demshki, Kyles, Fine, Hart, and Garcia
<br />ABSENT: Commissioner Gonzalez-Kester
<br />STAFF PRESENT: Diana Alegria, Erin Christmas, Ruby Leann Castillo, Kristie Thomas,
<br />Moises Lopez, Shari Call, Edward Enriquez, George Guzman, Elizabeth
<br />Martinez, Robyn G. Peterson, Adolfo Cruz, Carl Carey, Todd Corbin,
<br />Daniel E. Garcia, Gabriella Garcia, Angel Guo, Rafael Guzman, Carlie
<br />Myers, Randy McDaniel, Kristi Smith, Scott Brosious, Angela Henson,

<br />Chair Lyell convened the meeting at 5 p.m.
<br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE
<br />Tom Evans spoke regarding the budget, removal of vacant positions, and personnel
<br />overtime.
<br />CONSENT CALENDAR
<br />It was moved by Vice -Chair Mendez and seconded by Commissioner Arballo to approve
<br />the Consent Calendar as presented below affirming the actions appropriate to each
<br />item. The motion carried with Chair Lyell and Commissioners Burns, Arballo, Scarano,
<br />Demshki, Kyles, Fine, and Garcia voting aye and Commissioner Mounsey abstaining from
<br />items on the Consent Calendar.
<br />MINUTES
<br />The minutes of the meeting of March 11, 2021, were approved with Chair Lyell correcting
<br />the word "span" to "spend" under items for future Budget Engagement Commission
<br />consideration.
<br />ATTENDANCE
<br />The Budget Engagement Commission excused the absences of Commissioners
<br />(1) St. Pierre; and (2) Mounsey from the March 11, 2021, meeting.
<br />Commissioners Pelzer and Hart arrived during the following discussion.
