CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />�� TUESDAY, APRIL 6, 2021, 1 P.M. <br />VIRTUAL MEETING <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City gJ'Arts&Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Melendrez, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Hemenway, and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. <br />The Invocation was given by Pastor Jason Decena. <br />Councilmember Hemenway led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />There was no one wishing to address the City Council. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Hemenway, Perry, Fierro, and Melendrez expressed concern regarding <br />the murder in the La Sierra neighborhood. Additionally, Councilmember Hemenway <br />commented on policy regarding homelessness. Councilmember Perry commented jail <br />policies, Laura's law, illegal camping in right of ways, release of mentally ill individuals into <br />City limits by outside agencies, and the Easter Egg drive-thru at Bryant Park. <br />Councilwoman Plascencia commented on homeless and mentally ill individuals. <br />Councilmember Conder reported on retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General Harry <br />Goldsworthy 107th birthday celebration and loss of Rear Admiral Allen Edward Hill. <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on Latino Network Caesar Chavez Breakfast, Center <br />for Social Innovation Policy Summit, and virtual office hours. Mayor Lock Dawson <br />expressed condolences to the family of the murder victim Ke Chieh Meng and reported <br />on Ward 6 tour and students returning to school campuses. <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />Mayor Lock Dawson presented a Proclamation recognizing April as Earth Month. <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called upon Arts and Cultural Affairs Manager Margie Haupt to <br />announce Virtual Riverside Insect Fair. <br />106-264 <br />
