RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: APRIL 12, 2021 GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT SUBJECT: WA-12 AGRICULTURAL SERVICE WATER RATE REPORT FEBRUARY 28, 2021 The City Council adopted the WA-12 Agricultural Service water rate schedule (WA-12) on October 15, 2019, with an effective date of January 1, 2020. As a result, the previous WA-3/WA-9 customers were required to apply for the new WA-12 water rate schedule effective January 1, 2020, or transition to another applicable rate. Potential new customers began submitting applications to be considered for the new WA-12 water rate schedule as of January 2, 2020. As of February 28, 2021, the WA-12 water rate schedule includes 214 customers, of which 141 transitioned from the previous WA-3/WA-9. An estimated $382,597 of the annual program allocation of $684,000 has been allocated. As of January 1, 2021, the agricultural water allocation was updated using the rolling 15-year monthly average ETo value weather data (2005-2019). Through February 28, 2021, customers used approximately 49% of their estimated allotment of water or 32,084 CCF out of the allotted 65,705 CCF, for the two-month period.
