RPU-7801 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WELLS AVENUE AND <br />CYPRESS AVENUE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT PROJECT (PHASE II) WITH <br />GRIFFITH COMPANY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,169,539.60, INCLUDING A 10% <br />OR $216,953.96 CHANGE ORDER AUTHORITY AND APPROVAL OF WORK <br />ORDER NO. 1919789 IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,195,000 FOR TOTAL PROJECT <br />COSTS <br />ISSUES: <br />Consider awarding Bid No. RPU-7801 to Griffith Company of Brea, CA, for the construction of <br />the Wells Avenue and Cypress Avenue Water Main Replacement Project (Phase II) in the amount <br />of $2,169,539.60, plus a 10% change order authority in the amount of $216,953.96, and approving <br />the capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1919789 in the amount of $3,195,000. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />That the Board of Public Utilities: <br />1. Award Bid No. RPU-7801 to Griffith Company of Brea, California, in the amount of <br />$2,169,539.60 for the construction of the Wells Avenue and Cypress Avenue Water Main <br />Replacement Project (Phase II); <br />2. Authorize staff to issue change orders to the Griffith Company Construction Contract in an <br />amount not to exceed 10% of the original contract price, or $216,953.96, for Bid No. RPU- <br />7801; <br />3. Approve the capital expenditure for Work Order No. 1919789 in the amount of $3,195,000 <br />which includes all design, construction, paving, contract administration, inspection, and <br />construction change order authority costs for the Wells Avenue and Cypress Avenue Water <br />Main Replacement Project (Phase II); <br /> <br />4. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute water consultant panel supplemental <br />agreements for professional services required for this project if at least two proposals are <br />received for such professional service; and <br /> <br />5. Authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute any other documents necessary to <br />effectuate the project described herein, as well as the ability to make minor non-substantive <br />changes to such documents, in accordance with all purchasing policies. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
