CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />�� TUESDAY, MARCH 16, 2021, 1 P.M. <br />VIRTUAL MEETING <br />PUBLIC COMMENT IN PERSON/TELEPHONE <br />City gJ'Arts&Innovation ART PICK COUNCIL CHAMBER <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Melendrez, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Hemenway and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:08 p.m. <br />The Invocation was given by Pastor Soo Ji Alvarez. <br />Councilmember Hemenway led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Rich Gardner spoke regarding the St. Michael's apartment project and email response <br />time. Dave Wheatley spoke in support of local control of land use and zoning. Errol <br />Koschewitz spoke regarding the St. Michael's apartment project and the COVID relief <br />pension plans. Steve Johnson spoke regarding the 215/60/91 interchange homeless <br />camps and crime. Rosa Robles spoke regarding the recall. Aurora Chavez spoke <br />regarding public comment issues, Santa Ana River bottom maintenance, homeless <br />services, vaccinations and the economy. Sara Doyle spoke regarding the public health <br />crisis and police brutality and investing in youth and the community. One caller spoke <br />regarding the recall. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on 311 Day celebration, League of Women Voters on <br />affordable housing, Downtown Area Neighborhood Alliance, Neighbors of the Wood <br />Streets, and April virtual hours. Councilmember Melendrez commented on the St. <br />Michael's apartments affordable housing facility. Councilmember Conder reported on <br />the Annual 4th Air Force Raincross celebration. Councilwoman Plascencia reported on <br />Avenue Church food pantry event. Councilmember Hemenway reported on La Sierra <br />Senior Center vaccination site. Mayor Lock Dawson reported on establishing a task force <br />on economic development on the Santa Ana River, the Governor's State of the State <br />address, the tour of Feeding America, and Back Porch Homes. <br />106-245 <br />
