City ofArts 8Z Innovation <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2021, 1 P.M. <br />VIRTUAL MEETING <br />PUBLIC COMMENT VIA TELEPHONE <br />3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Melendrez, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Hemenway, and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. <br />The Invocation was given by Reverend Paul Munford. <br />Councilmember Conder led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Malissa McKeith spoke regarding training new board and commission members, and the <br />Urban Water Management. Two callers, Cecilia Sweeney, and Lori Skendervich spoke <br />regarding tobacco retailers ordinance and tobacco products targeting minors. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilwoman Plascencia thanked staff of Public Works Department and Office of <br />Homelessness Solutions. Councilmember Conder thanked 311 Call Center. Mayor Lock <br />Dawson reported on greeting the biker from India biking across the globe to raise <br />awareness on HIV and AIDS and the Big City Mayors meeting. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATE <br />The City Council received an update on Intergovernmental relations and legislation. <br />CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM CHALLENGE/FINANCIAL SOLVENCY <br />UPDATE <br />There was no update on the California Public Employees Retirement System <br />challenge/financial solvency. <br />HOMELESS SOLUTIONS UPDATE <br />There was no update on homeless solutions. <br />106-238 <br />
