W A T E R E N E R G Y L I F E <br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Board Memorandum <br />P U B L I C U T I L I T I E S <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE: March 8, 2021 <br />GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT <br />SUBJECT: MONTHLY WATER REPORT —January 2021 <br />In January, RPU's total water production was 5,377 acre-feet (AF) as shown in Figures 1 and 2. RPU's <br />annual rolling production totals by month are shown in Figure 3. In January, the peak water usage on the <br />potable water distribution system was 62.5 million gallons per day (MGD) and occurred on January 14, <br />2021 as shown in Figure 4. <br />RPU's potable water supply, including deliveries to Western Municipal Water District (WMWD), and the <br />City of Norco totaled 4,693 AF, which increased from last January by 290 AF. Under the Cooperative <br />Agreement for Water Production and Conveyance with WMWD 531 AF was wheeled to WMWD during <br />January. During this 2020/21 fiscal year, a total of 4,484 AF of potable water has been delivered to <br />WMWD. And Under the Agreement for the Sale of Surplus Potable Water and Emergency Water, RPU <br />delivered 0 AF to Norco in January 2021. <br />In January, RPU's Gallons Per -Capita per Day (GPCD) was 141, and its Residential Gallons Per -Capita <br />per Day (R-GPCD) was 83. RPU's annual rolling GPCD was 189, which is below the compliance target <br />specified in SB X7-7 (i.e. 20% reduction by 2020) of 213. RPU's annual rolling R-GPCD was 114 as shown <br />in Figure 5. The new performance standard will be published in Fall 2021 and will be implemented in 2023. <br />Weather conditions within the City of Riverside showed that January of 2021 was cooler by 1.3 degrees <br />from January last year and experienced an increase of 1.75 inches of rainfall compared to January 2020. <br />In January 2021 due to Redlands Passenger Rail Project crossing at Waterman Ave, the Waterman water <br />transmission line was shut down on January 14th, 2021, and put back into service on Thursday, January <br />21, 2021. This event did not affect RPU's consumption for January 2021. <br />Basin Groundwater Levels <br />Groundwater levels in the Bunker Hill, Rialto -Colton, and Riverside North basins are continuing <br />to show a long-term declining trend, while groundwater levels in the Riverside South Basin remain <br />relatively stable as shown in Figure 6. Water levels decreased by 17 feet in the Bunker Hill Basin <br />compared to January of last year. Water levels in the Rialto -Colton Basin decreased by 3 feet as <br />compared to January of last year. Water levels in the Riverside North Basin decreased by 11 feet, <br />while the levels in the Riverside South Basin remained constant. <br />
