CITY COUNCIL <br />MINUTES <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2021, 1 P.M, <br />VIRTUAL MEETING <br />PUBLIC COMMENT VIA TELEPHONE <br />City ?f Arts & Innovation 3900 MAIN STREET <br />PRESENT: Mayor Lock Dawson, Councilmembers Edwards, Melendrez, Fierro, Conder, <br />Perry, and Hemenway, and Councilwoman Plascencia <br />ABSENT: None <br />Mayor Lock Dawson called the meeting to order at 1 p.m. <br />The Invocation was given by Councilmember Edwards. <br />Mayor Lock Dawson led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE AUDIENCE <br />Errol Koschewitz spoke regarding racism. Ernie Arrellanes spoke regarding harassment by <br />City emergency services. Jerald Rasso spoke regarding speeding on Brockton Avenue. <br />Scott Andrews spoke regarding opening of the vaccination centers, paved streets, and <br />the City Council agendas. One caller spoke regarding diversity and racism. Malissa <br />McKeith spoke regarding projected housing and the Gage Canal shares. <br />MAYOR/COUNCILMEMBER COMMUNICATIONS <br />Councilmember Edwards reported on Ward 1 Virtual Office hours and board and <br />commission vacancies. Councilwoman Plascencia reported on Riverside Connect and <br />Black History month, with a reading of Janice Rooth's poem, "Our African American." <br />Councilmember Perry reported on street repaving in Ward 6. <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS AND LEGISLATIVE UPDATE <br />The Intergovernmental relations and legislative update was not held. <br />CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM CHALLENGE/FINANCIAL SOLVENCY <br />UPDATE <br />The California Public Employees Retirement System challenge/financial solvency was not <br />held. <br />HOMELESS SOLUTIONS UPDATE <br />The City Council received an update on homeless solutions. <br />106-213 <br />
