Public Comment for February 8, 2021
Board of Public Utilities Meeting
Prepared by the City Clerk's Office at 5:45 p.m. on February 8, 2021
City IArts & Innovation
Neighborhood
Position
Comments
Curious when someone on the Board is going to join me in generating momentum
towards passing a resolution regarding the imaginary thing that our crack legal
team is calling "non -ratepayer revenue"? Who wants to be a champion for the
ratepayers? RPU 101: Every dollar ever generated within the electric and water
1. You are invited to participate by phone at 951-826-8600 to
funds originated at some point in time from ratepayer revenue. Ratepayer revenue
comment on agenda items and matters within the jurisdiction of the
Jason
invested into spare capacity, which then generates its own revenue, does not
Board of Public Utilities. Individual audience participation is limited to
Hunter
somehow magically (through pixie dust) become general fund revenue as argued
3 minutes.
unsuccessfully by Susan Wilson in the Parada case. If anyone believes that "non -
ratepayer" hogwash they should resign immediately from the Board. Susan Wilson
should be fired for even suggesting it. We the ratepayers, are not sheep to be
shorn for the benefit of the general fund. All electric and water fund revenue
should stay in the those funds to defer future rate increases, unless there's a legal
vote of the public to the contrary.
