<br />RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES <br />Board Memorandum <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE February 8, 2021 <br />GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT <br />SUBJECT:MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT – December 2020 <br />Power Usage: <br />Wholesale Load (Vista): – 162,431 MWH (Chart 1) <br />Peak Demand: – 271 MW of which 306 MW came from RVSD available resources (Chart 2) <br />RVSD Energy Mix (Chart 1): <br />ResourceMWH <br />a) Nuclear8,636 <br />b) Coal 44,054 <br />c) Large Hydroelectric 1,558 <br />d) Natural Gas 8,095 <br />e) Renewables 69,603 <br />f) Inter SC Trades - <br />g) Green Inter SC Trades - <br />h) CAISO Purchases 30,484 <br />Total: 162,431 <br />Total Green Power Supply – 69,603 MWH which yields 42.85% of the Total Wholesale Load Requirement <br />Resource Availability: <br />Nuclear: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 89.29% capacity factor for the month. <br />Coal: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 43.22% capacity factor for the month. <br />Large Hydro: Hoover, RVSD’s capacity entitlement was 19 MW, with energy entitlement of 1,558 MWH. <br />Natural Gas: Clearwater’s availability was 79.23% for the month. <br /> RERC’s (Units 1, 2, 3 and 4) availability was 99.84% for the month. <br /> Springs’s (Units 1, 2, 3 and 4) availability was 77.42% for the month. <br />Renewable: CALPPA units operated at 89.75% capacity factor for the month. <br /> Wintec operated at 10.39% capacity factor. <br /> WKN operated at 9.47% capacity factor. <br />Transwind operated at 2.40% capacity factor. <br /> Kingbird Solar operated at 18.73% capacity factor. <br /> Tequesquite Solar operated at 7.58% capacity factor. <br /> AP North Lake Solar operated at 9.78% capacity factor. <br /> Camelot Solar2 operated at 18.66% capacity factor. <br /> Bigsky Solar3 operated at 18.25% capacity factor. <br /> Bigsky Solar7 operated at 16.03% capacity factor. <br /> Bigsky Solar1X operated at 16.74% capacity factor. <br />The attached graphical comparisons represent RPU’s December: <br /> Chart 1: Total Energy Requirements/Resource Mix <br /> Chart 2: Peak Hour Total Capacity <br /> Chart 3: Retail Customer Load <br /> Chart 4: Daily Peak Load and Temperature Comparisons <br /> Chart 5: Monthly Peak Load and Temperature <br /> <br />
