RIVERSIDE PUBLIC UTILITIES Board Memorandum BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES DATE February 8, 2021 GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT SUBJECT:MONTHLY POWER SUPPLY REPORT – December 2020 Power Usage: Wholesale Load (Vista): – 162,431 MWH (Chart 1) Peak Demand: – 271 MW of which 306 MW came from RVSD available resources (Chart 2) RVSD Energy Mix (Chart 1): ResourceMWH a) Nuclear8,636 b) Coal 44,054 c) Large Hydroelectric 1,558 d) Natural Gas 8,095 e) Renewables 69,603 f) Inter SC Trades - g) Green Inter SC Trades - h) CAISO Purchases 30,484 Total: 162,431 Total Green Power Supply – 69,603 MWH which yields 42.85% of the Total Wholesale Load Requirement Resource Availability: Nuclear: Palo Verde units 1, 2 and 3 operated at 89.29% capacity factor for the month. Coal: IPP units 1 and 2 operated at 43.22% capacity factor for the month. Large Hydro: Hoover, RVSD’s capacity entitlement was 19 MW, with energy entitlement of 1,558 MWH. Natural Gas: Clearwater’s availability was 79.23% for the month. RERC’s (Units 1, 2, 3 and 4) availability was 99.84% for the month. Springs’s (Units 1, 2, 3 and 4) availability was 77.42% for the month. Renewable: CALPPA units operated at 89.75% capacity factor for the month. Wintec operated at 10.39% capacity factor. WKN operated at 9.47% capacity factor. Transwind operated at 2.40% capacity factor. Kingbird Solar operated at 18.73% capacity factor. Tequesquite Solar operated at 7.58% capacity factor. AP North Lake Solar operated at 9.78% capacity factor. Camelot Solar2 operated at 18.66% capacity factor. Bigsky Solar3 operated at 18.25% capacity factor. Bigsky Solar7 operated at 16.03% capacity factor. Bigsky Solar1X operated at 16.74% capacity factor.
