One of the recommendations included appropriating funds to the Public Works and Park <br />and Recreation Departments to hire a Trails and Open Space Resource Manager to coordinate trail and <br />open space planning and to pursue grant funding. After discussion, the City Council referred the <br />funding for the Trails and Open Space Manager to the City Council Finance Committee with a report <br />due in 60 days on the job description (see attached). <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, amongst the primary duties of the proposed Transportation and Trails Coordinator <br />will be grant writing to offset the cost of adding this position. Other duties will include: coordination <br />with neighboring cities and outside agencies on the plarming and construction of transportation facilities <br />whether they are a multi-purpose trail, open space, roadways or transit facilities, inter-modal <br />transportation projects. Expanding the duties to include transportation will allow partial funding of the <br />position through Gas Tax funds to achieve improved coordination with our neighboring jurisdictions <br />and outside agencies. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Riverside, <br />California, as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Section 4 of Resolution No. 20043 setting forth the Classification Plan is hereby <br /> <br />amended to add the following classification title and salary range: <br /> Transportation and Trails Coordinator, Class # 7855, M39E $3780-5065 <br /> <br /> Section 2: The provisions of this resolution shall be operative as of February 3, 2004. <br /> <br />/// <br /> <br />/// <br /> <br />City Attorney's Office <br />3900 Main Street <br />Riverside, CA 92522 <br />(909) 826-5567 <br /> <br /> <br />
