AM-003-923 1 ORDINANCE NO. 6044 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 19 OF THE CITY OF RIVERSIDE MUNICIPAL 3 CODE BY ADDING A NEW SECTION 19.04.484; AMENDING ~ SECTIONS 19.20.020 AND 19.58.020 BY ADDING SUB- 4 SECTIONS THERETO; AMENDING SECTIONS 19.34.020 AND 19.36.020 BY DELETING PORTIONS THEREOF AND ADDING 5 SUBSECTIONS THERETO AND AMENDING SECTION 19.46.020 BY DELETING A PORTION THEREOF AND ADDING ADDITIONAL 6 LANGUAGE THERETO TO PERMIT TECHNICAL/VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS IN A VARIETY OF ZONES SUBJECT TO A CONDITION- ? AL USE PERMIT AND SETTING CRITERIA FOR THOSE SCHOOLS. 8 9 The City Council of the City of Riverside, California, 10 does ordain as follows: 11 Section 1: Chapter 19.04 of the Riverside Municipal 12 Code is hereby amended by adding the following definition 13 thereto as new Section 19.04.484 to read as follows: 14 "19.04.484 VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS. "Vocational schools" means a technical, trade or self-improvement school 15 providing highly specialized technical courses or a limited range of technical courses not recognized by 16 accrediting organizations." 17 Section 2: Section 19.20.020 of the Riverside Municipal 18 code is hereby amended by adding thereto a new subsection (14) 19 to read as follows: 20 "(14) Vocational schools, subject to the granting of a conditional use permit and meeting the standards 21 set forth below: 22 A. Parking shall be provided in accordance with Section 19.74.010 (29) of this Title. Parking 23 shall be distributed throughout the site. 24 B. The curriculum and coursework of a vocational school which includes laboratory work or any form 25 of "hands on" requirement at the school site may include only those uses permitted in the 26 underlying zone. 27 C.
